Anthropologie
50 Rockefeller Plaza, New York
20,000 square feet on three levels
This is, by far, Anthropologie's largest store. Located in historic Rockefeller Center, the store's plaza level was connected to its concourse shopping level by creating a large slab opening between floors, and fabricating a grand travertine-clad staircase with ornamental iron railings. A built-up floor framing system was also installed to level a former theater space. Existing structural steel was reconfigured to create a double-height retail space on the plaza level and a feature element at the mezzanine level.
